First of all, I will like to take this opportunity to wish all of you here in this community a Happy 2014 New Year and hope that you will start to make money from trading this year.

I am happy to receive emails from students of my forex course during the New Year telling me how much things have changed for them since they took my course and several of them have now become a full time trader like me.

For those of you who has taken my course and is still practicing on the demo account, please be patient and you must make sure that you can make consecutive months of profits in your demo account before you move to live trading.

Okay, it is time for me to share with you the performance of those trades that are taken using the strategies taught in my Forex Street University and Break The Bands Course.

  • 2 December 2013 EURUSD: -25 pips
  • 4 December 2013 EURUSD: +50 pips
  • 6 December 2013 EURUSD: -25 pips

  • 4 December 2013 GBPUSD: -25 pips
  • 13 December 2013 GBPUSD: +50 pips
  • 26 December 2013 GBPUSD: +50 pips

  • 15 December 2013 USDJPY: +50 pips
  • 23 December 2013 USDJPY: Breakeven
  • 26 December 2013 USDJPY: Breakeven

  • 10 December 2013 GBPJPY: +50 pips
  • 12 December 2013 GBPJPY: +50 pips
  • 15 December 2013 GBPJPY: +50 pips

As a whole, there are 7 Winning Trades, 2 Breakeven Trades and 3 Losing Trades for this strategy in December 2013. In total, the break the bands strategy makes 275 pips (which is equivalent to $2,750 if you are trading 1 standard lot per trade) for me last month.

For those of you who are new to this strategy, I will suggest you to start with demo account. Once you are able to make consecutive months of profit with this strategy, that means that you are now able to execute it well. You can then move on to live trading.

As for the performance of my Forex Street University Course, the 6 strategies has produced over 31 trades last month.

  • Forex Scalping Strategy: 7 Winning Trades, 2 Losing Trades
  • Forex Piggyback Strategy: 6 Winning Trades, 1 Losing Trade
  • Guppy Trading System: 2 Wining Trades, 2 Losing Trades
  • Elliot Wave System: 4 Winning Trades, 1 Losing Trade
  • Gartley Pattern: 1 Winning Trade, 1 Losing Trade
  • Confluence of Supports System: 4 Winning Trades, 1 Losing Trade

In total, I made 23 Winning Trades and 8 Losing Trades using the 6 strategies in the Forex Street University Course. In total, I make triple the amount of pips from the Forex Street University Course as compared to the Break The Bands Strategy and this mainly due to the high risk reward ratio in those strategies.

    Hi Kelvin,

Great performance you have here. I have a question for you. I saw on your previous post that you recommended we only risk 2-3% of our capital per trade. Is that what we set for our Stop Loss? For example, if I have a capital of $1000, I can only risk up to $30 per trade, which may be equivalent to 30 pips for minilots and 300 pips for standard lots, is that correct? How many trades can I have opened at the same time then?

Wishing you a great trading ahead in 2014!

    Regards, Tang

      Hi Tang

I will suggest a maximum of 2 trades at any one time. For $30, it is equivalent to 3 pips on the standard lots.

the correct sum is 275 pips , isnt it ?
